Hydrothermal liquefaction of Undaria pinnatifida residue with n-propylamine solution was investigated
and the components of bio-oil
water-soluble substances and solid residue were analyzed. The highest bio-oil yield of 39.81% (mass) was obtained with n-propylamine concentration of 1.5 mol·L-1
temperature 240℃
solid-to-liquid ratio 1:10. The results of GC-MS and FT-IR showed that the bio-oil consisted of alcohols
alkanes
esters
acids
phenols and amides
and also contained C=C
C=O
O-H and other chemical bonds. The results of HPLC and GC-MS analysis indicated that the main products of water-soluble substances were acids. Furtherly
XRD analysis of solid residue showed that the crystallization of cellulose decreased after hydrothermal liquefaction. The effect of temperature on the recovery of n-propylamine was also studied
