To study the unexpected interfusion of crystalloid sensitizer on the safety of emulsion explosive
Dewar test was employed for studying the influence of crystalloid sodium nitrite (NaNO2) on the thermal stability of ammonium nitrate (AN)
emulsion (ANE)
and emulsion explosive (EE). The results show that when adding 10 g NaNO2 into 400 g samples
the threshold temperature of samples are AN 40—45℃
EE 45—50℃
and ANE >100℃. The critical adding amounts of NaNO2 for AN
EE and ANE are 1 g
2 g and 10 g
respectively. The order of their thermal stability is accordingly as follows: AN< EE< ANE. The increasing water content in sample is helpful for the thermal stability of the sample systems with mixed NaNO2.
