The Fe-doped ZnO was synthesized by a parallel flow precipitation method with Zn(NO3)2·6H2O and NH3·H2O as raw materials. The morphology and structure of as-synthesized products were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD)
field emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM)
transmission electron microscopy(TEM)
UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectra(UV-vis DRS) and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET) for surface area analysis.Pyridine(Py) petroleum ether solution was used as model pollutant to investigate the denitrification performance of Fe-doped ZnO.The results illustrated that all of the Fe-doped ZnO products only comprise hexagonal wurtzite structure when the molar ratio of Fe/Zn from 0 to 1.0%.Fe doped ZnO photocatalysts exhibit much higher photocatalytic performance
which is ascribed to the decreased crystal size
increased specific surface area and reinforced absorbance ability in visible light range. When the concentration of Py is 10 μg·g-1 and dosage of 0.50% Fe photocatalyst is 0.6 g·L-1
the degradation efficiency of Py is 65.3% under the irradiation of a 150 W mercury lamp with illumination distance of 10 cm for 50 min.
