机械密封启动阶段的摩擦性能对其稳定运行时密封性能的发挥和服役寿命具有重要影响。为探究扩压式自泵送流体动压机械密封(DSPHMS)的启动摩擦特性,采用实验室自主设计的机械密封性能试验装置,对DSPHMS在不同启动状态下的瞬态摩擦扭矩进行实时测量,并将结果与普通自泵送流体动压机械密封(SPHMS)和接触式机械密封(C-MS)进行对比,通过摩擦扭矩变化曲线对其启动阶段的摩擦状态转变特性进行分析。结果表明:启动过程中,所有密封件的摩擦扭矩曲线在变化趋势上均表现出较好的一致性,摩擦扭矩数值从低值迅速到达峰值点,而后迅速下降到谷值开始平稳变化;与SPHMS和C-MS相比,DSPHMS启动过程中的摩擦扭矩数值最小;在速度变化率为12 s/kr时,DSPHMS的脱开转速最小为1123 r/min。
Friction performance during the start-up stage of mechanical seals has a significant influence on their sealing performance and service life during stable operation. To investigate the start-up friction characteristics of a diffused self-pumping hydrodynamic mechanical seal (DSPHMS)
a self-designed mechanical seal performance test device was used to measure the transient friction torque of the DSPHMS under different start-up conditions in real time. The results were compared with those of a conventional self-pumping hydrodynamic mechanical seal (SPHMS) and a contacting mechanical seal (C-MS). The friction state transition characteristics during the start-up stage were analyzed based on the friction torque variation curves. The results show that the friction torque curves of all seals exhibit a consistent trend during start-up: the friction torque rapidly rises from a low value to a peak
then quickly drops to a trough and stabilizes. Compared with SPHMS and C-MS
the DSPHMS presents a lower friction torque during start-up. At a speed change rate of 12 s/kr
the minimum lift-off speed of the DSPHMS is 1123 r/min.
