The compatibilities of high and super high temperature heat pipes were studied and the heat pipes were designed

made and experimented.The mechanism of micro cell erosion was put forward

further the compatibility of heat pipe shell material and working fluids was accounted for.The sodium high temperature heat pipe and lithium super high temperature heat pipe were designed and experimented.The heat pipes could be started up successfully

in the mean time the possible sonic limit should be paid attention.The results of heat transfer limits showed that the super high temperature lithium heat pipe should operate at a higher temperature and higher heat flux compared with that of the sodium heat pipe.
