Microscale polymer melt filling process is complex due to many factors involved. In this paper
depending on the characteristics of microscale filling flow of polymer melt
the micro injection mold for cell container was designed and manufactured with several technologies
including variotherm system
vacuum system and micro-electrical discharge machining (EDM).Based on the Taguchi experimental design method
the process parameters were studied with high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and polyoxymethylene (POM)
and their interactions on the quality of molding micro part were investigated. The results showed that for HDPE
the influence of mold temperature on filling rate was the principal parameter in the molding process. Packing pressure was the secondary factor. The impact of melt temperature and packing pressure time was relatively small. The experimental results also indicated that for POM
