The experimental studies on the flow characteristics in centrifugal fluidized beds were performed. The results indicated that the pressure drop exhibited a plateau when the flow rate decreased. But when the flow rate increased the influences of the bed structure
the way of loading bed material and the operating condition on the curve of pressure drop-velocity were relatively great. The curve obtained when the flow rate decreased should be used to determine the incipient fluidizing velocities experimentally. The visual experimental studies verified that the bed was gradually fluidized layer by layer with the increase of flow rate in the incipient fluidization stage
and indicated that the granular material was fully mixed in the fluidized region of the bed.
