This paper presents experimental results on the effect of fluid properties on two phase flow patterns
flow pattern transition equations
void fraction and two phase frictional pressure drop in the shell- side of a segmentally baffled shell- and- tube heat exchanger. A comparison between the air- water and air- diesel oil data shows that the liquid viscosity and interface tension produce a significant effect on the transition from intermittent flow to annular flow
a slight effect on the transition to bubble flow
and a significant effect on void fraction and two phase frictional pressure drop.
