On the basis of the distinguishing features of two-dimensional reaction -diffusion equations describing the surface poisoned cylindrical catalyst with equilibrium dead zone
Finite Element Method (FEM) is used to solve this kind of problem
which is often difficult to solve for other methods. A comparison of calculated effectiveness factors with experimental data shows that FEM has the advantages of simplicity and accuracy and it is easy to be used to analogous systems.
