In this paper

the mechanism of heat transfer in granular materials and heat exchange between the bed wall and particles near the wall are investigated. The mechanismic model and two-dimensional pseudo-homogeneous mathematical model of heat trantfer in moving granular materials are presented. Three formulas about the effective thermal conductivity and the wall heat exchange coefficient are derived. The temperature distribution in the moving bed given by numerical solution of the mathematical model agrees with that measured in the experiment. Therefore

the validity of the model and formulas is verified.
