The number of active sites for nine kinds of coal char at high temperature were measured in CO2 gasification condition. Experimental results showed that the relationship of "volcano" shape between gasification rates and x and several ten times difference of gasification rates among a variety of coal char could be explained by the difference of number of active sites of coal char.
