Nanoaluminum was subjected to surface activation using sodium hydroxide(NaOH)solution. In order to introduce epoxy group onto the surface of nanoaluminum
γglycidoxypropy1 trimethoxysilane(KH560)and EP resin were used for surface treatment after the activation process. The effect of activated nanoaluminum and epoxy functionalized nanoaluminum on the mechanism and kinetic parameters of curing reaction of epoxy resin were studied by means of nonisothermal differential scanning calorimetry(DSC).The relationship between activation energy and conversion of the curing reaction was determined by using the isoconversional methods of Friedman and KAS
and the kinetics parameters were also obtained by using Kissinger equation. The results showed that the existence of activated nanoaluminum and epoxy functionalized nanoaluminum increased the rate constant and decreased gelling temperature. The addition of activated nanoaluminum and epoxy functionalized nanoaluminum increased activation energy and dealing temperature. When 2% KH560 modified nanoaluminum was used
gelling temperature decreased 6.5℃
and dealing temperature increased 17.5℃
but has no obvious effect on the order of reaction and did not change the overall curing reaction mechanism.
