Determination and correlation of solubility of bismuth oxychloride in hydrochloric acid solution
For bismuth oxychloride (BiOCl) precipitation from BiCl3-HCl-H2O system
it is important to obtain its solubility in hydrochloric acid solution and correlate the data between bismuth oxychloride solubility and some parameters
such as temperature and pH value. In this study
solubility of BiOCl in hydrochloric acid solution was experimentally determined by the equilibrium method in the temperature range from 303.15 to 363.15 K. The experimental data are correlated by Apelblat equation
Empirical equation and λh equation. The results show that BiOCl solubility increases with the increase of temperature and concentration of hydrochloric acid solution. The concentration of hydrochloric acid solution has greater effect than temperature on the solubility of BiOCl. The solubility data for BiCl3-HCl-H2O system are well correlated by Apelblat equation
