Improved unit-specific event based model for scheduling of batch plants
Establishing effective model of scheduling for batch processes is the hot spot of the batch processes scheduling research. Continuous-time models are evolved as a promising tool for optimizing problems related to short-term scheduling of batch plants. Short-term scheduling of batch operations is an important part of scheduling problems. Based on the concept of unit-specific event
an improved mixed integer linear programming model for scheduling of batch plants is proposed. Several new variables and constraints are introduced to make stock transfer between units more flexible. The result shows that the new model can deal with scheduling problems of unlimited intermediate storage effectively and faster with less number of events.
