A method is presented to transform the equations describing steady reactive distillation with chemical reactions and inert components into a new set of equations. The formulating style of the new model is similar to traditional distillation model. Moreover

an algorithm which is based on the modified Newton-Raphson method is developed to solve the simultaneous equations. The reactive distillation process for separating o-and p-xylene is simulated as numerical example.
