Properties of ultra-fine formula pyrotechnics containing potassium chlorate, aluminum and sulfur
The thermal and mechanical sensitivity tests were conducted for the common and ultra-fine pyrotechnics with zero oxygen balance composition: 63%KClO3+17%Al+20%S.It is found that after one or/and two of the component particles were ultrafined the impact sensitivity was reduced obviously
but the friction sensitivity affected little. In addition
the higher the ultra-fine degree of pyrotechnics is
the lower its initial thermal decomposition temperature
the longer the time required to reach the maximum rising rate of temperature
the lower the pressure reached in the thermal decomposition reaction.
