Relationships between structure and rheological properties of polymeric diols with comb-branched chains
A series of polymeric diols with different comb-branched chains (CPDs) were prepared and characterized by FTIR.The effects of comb-branched structure and temperature on the rheological properties of CPDs were studied. The flow activation energy ΔEη0 of CPDs was also measured. The results showed that the viscosity of CPDs increased and the shear rate at the beginning of shear thinning behavior decreased with increasing length and polarity of comb-branched chains. Two kinds of shear thinning behavior were shown on the η-γ curves of CPDs.A plateau existed between these two kinds of shear thinning behavior on the η-γ curves of CPDs.The plateau moved toward the high shear rate and shortened with increasing temperature
and disappeared at 50℃.The flow activation energy ΔEη0 increased with the increase of length and polarity of comb-branched chains.
